Database of the Day: Naxos Music Library

Database of the Day: Naxos Music Library

Need music for studying?  Skip iTunes and check out Naxos Music Library, which has over 60,000 CDs and over 867,000 tracks.  Naxos started out as a classical music collection, but has since grown to include jazz, folk, blues, Chinese, gospel, pop/rock, and relaxation music, plus some spoken work recordings.  Over 800 new CDs are added every month.

Once you log in from the library's database page, go to the playlists tab and create a personal login so you can create and store playlists of what you want to hear.  Access your playlists from anytime, anywhere, from any computer (with Internet access).

Naxos is not just for music majors – anybody can explore this collection that has recordings from more than 378 labels.

Ready to start? Go to the library's database A-Z list and find “Naxos Music Library” in the list or Ask-A-Librarian to get started.

Check back for our next “ Database of the Day,” part of celebrating Information Literacy Awareness Month.
